Okay, so I kind of disappeared for a while. I promise I really am trying to get this blog going and I will. And of course, I'm late on posting this, but here is my December Daily journal. This is my first year participating and I think this is the most fun I've had scrapping. I can't wait to start filling it up and to see it completed. I'll be sure to post those pictures soon.

I'm so happy I got to take part in another Embellish Magazine Color Challenge. I really loved the color combo this time around and I love that it ties in with Breast Cancer Awareness Month! One thing I learned this time around? Papertrey Ink's ink takes a little longer to dry than I had thought, ha ha! You can see that I smudged the sentiment. Oh well, this card isn't going anywhere. Regardless of my mishap, I loved how it turned out and it's going to sit on my desk as a reminder to take things one day at a time.

It's time for another Halloween card! I can't believe it's almost here. I can't wait to pass out candy to all of the cute trick-or-treaters, so excited! I love this image of the little jail birds and knew I had to use it. If you haven't been able to tell, I'm obsessed with Polka Dot Basics II lately, I just can't seem to put it down! And of course, there is some more embossing going on.

I also decided to emboss a sentiment on the inside of the card. I usually leave the inside of my cards blank, but I wanted to convey the Halloween thought of this card. I plan on making a few more Halloween cards before I'll retire my stamps until next year, I want to get some out to my family. Thanks for dropping by guys!

I'm back with another layout using a picture from our recent picture shoot. This is one of my favorite pictures that our awesome photographer took. I love all the colors and the Jet Boat building was an awesome backdrop. With some many awesome colors, I was at a loss of where to start. I start going through my paper and found this awesome Sassafras paper that I bought on a whim and instantly knew that it was perfect.

I added some buttons to the rainbow rays to give them some dimension. I placed the picture so it gives the effect that the rainbow is radiating out of the picture, added my title, added some journaling and viola! A page that's a little outside my comfort zone, but I love it.

A few weeks ago, my husband and I had our pictures taken. The last time we had our pictures taken professionally was 3 years ago for our wedding. Needless to say, I was excited. We needed some updated pictures around here. And of course, every scrapbook knows that it's an awesome opportunity to get some pages done. :)

This awesome paper is from Basic Grey's June Bug Collection. I picked it up a few months ago and I have been waiting for the right picture to come along. Another thing I've been loving is to add buttons to layouts lately. I've never done that before, but I'm really digging it. I wanted to add some journaling and wasn't quite sure how I could do that. The idea I came up with was punching out three 2 inch circles with my Fiskars punch in Ocean Tides cardstock from Papertrey Ink. Then, I glued them together, drew on some faux stitching lines, and added my journaling. I liked the way it came out. Thank you guys for stopping by today!

Halloween is one of my favorite times of year. I love the decorations, scary movies, carving pumpkins, and the crisp Fall air. I just love it all! I have a few Halloween Stamp sets and now is the time to use them.

For this card, I wanted to use that awesome flocked paper from Doodlebug. I think I might have gone a little overboard on all the patterns, but hey, it's Halloween! Things are always a little overboard when it comes to Halloween. I used some more of Polka Dot Basics II and some more embossing. I used a wood grain stamp from Halloween to give the purple "moon" some texture. Have you guys started making Halloween cards yet? I still have some more to show you guys, I'm having so much fun! I've been on an embossing kick lately. About a month or so ago, peachycheap.com had a great deal on American Crafts Embossing powder and I'm just now getting around to playing with them.

On this card, I went super simple. I embossed the background with clear embossing powder from American Crafts and Polka Dots Basics II. Can I just tell you all that I LOVE this stamp set? Definitely my favorite stamp set I own. Okay, back to the card. I then stamped the cute apples and embossed them in American Crafts Rouge embossing powder. I love how this card came out. Happy Sunday everyone! It's a beautiful Fall day here. I just finished making my first ever batch of lasagna, it turned out awesome. I love Fall comfort food, don't you? This afternoon I had some free time so I decided to try out Dawn's color challenge. The color combo was a little difficult for me and I'm not completely happy with what I came up with, but live and learn right? The colors reminded me of Christmas and I decided to make my first Christmas card of the year. Crazy!

I tried to create a ruffle type effect. I don't have a sewing machine and I don't know how to sew, but I thought I would re-create the look with my scallop border bunch. I think I like it.

Howdy guys, I hope everyone had a great weekend. I was in California/Nevada this weekend for my little sister's wedding. I feel so old now! I can't belive she's married. It was a beautiful wedding along the Colorado River, I'll share pictures soon!

I made this card for my good friend, Kaylene. Kaylene and I have actually never met in person, but she is one of my closest friends. We met a few years ago through a message board for newlyweds. We were both young girls from the West Coast who ended up on the East Coast and had about a million things in common. I wanted to make her a card thanking her for her friendship these last few years.

I used some more of..... you guessed it! Basic Grey (I'm obsessed I tell ya!) Indian Summer paper. Don't you love how all the stripes are so mismatched yet they look so perfect together? *Love that!* A few weeks ago, I had picked up the Fiskars Maple Leaf punch from my LSS and wasn't entirely sure what I would use it for. As soon as I started this card, I know it would work perfectly. I used some more of the ribbon from my last card and a Indian Summer button with some of my new Papertrey Ink twine. I love how this card came out. I've been dying to try the ruffled ribbon technique and think it looks awesome! Can't you tell I'm on such a fall kick lately? If I don't stop it, I'll have a supply of Fall cards I'll never get through! Thanks for stopping by!

If you watched my haul video, then you know that I just got some awesome new goodies. I couldn't wait to try them out. Here is the first card I made with some of my new things. I am loving all the Fall colors. I can't wait until the leaves start changing. I was born and raised in Southern California and never experienced a "true" Fall until my husband and I moved to the East Coast a few years ago. It has quickly become my favorite season, I look forward to it every year.

I'm sure you can tell by now, I'm a *huge* Basic Grey fan. I wanted to snatch up Indian Summer as soon as a saw it on the CHA sneak peak on 2peas. I'm always loving the 2009 Autumn Tags set from Papertrey Ink, how cute is that branch? Come on Fall, I'm ready for you! ;)

I'm a huge fan of Kristina Werner's blog and for the first time I was able to participate in her Virtual Card Club for the month of June. Since I'm new to card making, I thought this was a perfect way to learn some new techniques and pick up a few new ideas. For June, the card club had 2 cards and a cute little box. I haven't made the box yet, but I wanted to share my cards with you guys.

I decorated the envelope to match for this one. I'm still loving Basic Grey's Lemonade collection. I just can't get enough of it. I love that I was able to display so many of these beautiful papers. And don't you love Basic Grey Buttons? I think they are awesome! I sent this card to a friend I haven't seen in a while. I hope she likes it :).

Then I made this one for my sister's birthday. It has some more of the Basic Grey Lemonade paper and look at that ribbon? Isn't that just luscious? It's Papertrey Ink's Berry Sorbet satin ribbon. It's just beautiful! I'm still learning to tie good looking bows, but this one doesn't look too bad, does it?

A good family friend recently had her second baby, a boy. She named him Carson, isn't that the cutest name? They are in California and I can't wait to meet him when I go home for a visit this week. I've had this Sassafrass Jungle Pals stamp set for a while and I knew this was the perfect opportunity to break it out.

Can I just tell you y'all how much I LOVE that giraffe, I think it's adorable! I love giraffes and that's the mean reason why I got this stamp set! ;) I was so glad to finally have a reason to use it.

{ Raspberry Suite Color Challenge #16 }

This is my first time participating in a color challenge. I love Dawn's blog, it's so inspiring and I couldn't resist trying out these beautiful Fall colors. It was definitely a challenge, I was a little unsure of where to begin with this color combination, but in the end, I love how it turned out.

I started out with a Vintage Cream card base and then I used a stamp from the K&Co. Amy Butler Lotus Floral stamp set to make a background, I used Versamark and then clear embossed it. I just got the new Martha Stewart Loopy Edge punch this week and wanted to try it out. I punched it out in Summer Sunrise cardstock to frame my sentiment. I used Kraft cardstock to stamp my sentiment on. Since the colors reminded me of Fall and Thanksgiving, I used this "blessing" stamp from Ali Edwards Loving Words stamp set in Dark Chocolate Ink and then I added some buttons from Fancy Pants "All Fall" collection. Lastly, I took the Dark Chocolate ink and ran it over the edges of the Vintage Cream and Kraft, it really finished off the card nicely.

I would have never thought to use these colors together, but I love how it turned out. I might make some more to send out for Thanksgiving this year!

I haven't been able to be in my crafting room too much, my husband has been on a "stay"cation the last 2 weeks and I've been trying to enjoy as much time with him as I possibly can.

I got the idea for this card from Kristina Werner, she had a video on how to do the burst design and I couldn't resist taking a shot at it. I really love how it turned out. I am absolutely in love with Basic Grey and just love the Lemonade collection. It's the perfect amount of summer and whimsy for me.

I recently received another order from my favorite site, 2peas. I was so excited to get the butterfly punch from Fiskars. I've had my eye on it for a while and finally bit the bullet and ordered it and I'm so glad I did because now it's sold out. I have seen to many awesome projects using the punch in the 2peas gallery and I couldn't wait to give it a try.

All the butterflies were punched out in Basic Grey's Lemonade Collection. I'm so in love with this paper. I only have the 6x6 pack, but I'm thinking of of ordering the larger 12x12 collection pack. I'm loving the Basic Grey Collection lately. I saw some of the sneak peaks through 2peas from CHA and I can't wait to get my hands on some of their new collections, especially Eerie.

I am definitely still new to all the stamping, scraping, etc., but I'm loving the fact that I'm feeling my compulsive need to create something. I'm slowly but surely getting there. I love this Paisley Swirl stamp from Hero Arts. I've been lusting after it for a quite sometime and I actually won it (more on the later). I couldn't wait to use it, but I also wasn't quite sure what I wanted to do with it. Here's what I came up with.

Just dropping in to share a card with you. I was totally inspired (and practically copying) this card I saw in A Year In Cards class for May on 2peas. I loved the woodgrain with the Amy Butler die-cut butterfly and knew I had to put my own spin on it and I love the results.

I just love these butterflies. They are just too stinking adorable, they make me smile every time I go through my stash. I only got one of these sheets, but I'm thinking I need to get some more because I love them just entirely too much. I really love the way it turned out.

Hi, I'm Kari.

I'm new to the world of stamping, scrapping, and creating. I've scrapped off and on since I was a teenager, but I was never really serious about it. I used the most basic layouts with tons of stickers and called it a day. Here I am, a few years later, 25 years old and looking for a hobby. My husband has golf, I had my dogs (Sadie and my Bee-Dog Bailey, get it? ;). I love my babies, but I felt an urge to do something creative, to give myself a satisfying way to use my free time. So what did I do? I went to google (doesn't everybody?). I started googling anything and everything that seemed semi-interesting to me. After a few days of searching, I found it. The angels started singing as I stumbled across twopeasinabucket.com and I was hooked. I loved what these ladies where creating with paper, ribbons, buttons, and stamps! The stamps definitely surprised me, the only thing I knew about stamps were that they seemed to be for Grandmas, but boy was I wrong! Michael's was seriously pulling a fast one over me, they never had the awesome stamps I was seeing at 2peas. So, as we all know, this isn't the cheapest hobby to pick up, especially when your husband is in law school. I've slowly been adding to my collection over the last few months and watching tons and tons of youtube videos to learn how to use different things and awesome techniques. So that leads us here.... to me trying to be a crafty homemaker.
